Many of you will recognise Mepal from your own childhood, their iconic dinnerware range has been in production since 1976 and I can remember the camping range and particularly the 314 Series Mug from camping trips to Pembrokeshire in our family tent, again in the '70s.

They are back and they are absolutely scrummy!

Anyone who loves jams, chutneys and preserves will be aware that the taste of the finished product is dependent entirely on the quality of the ingredients.  As a former Chef, Jane Raven the founder Myrtle's Kitchen in Herefordshire is only too aware of this.  Jane used her knowledge of quality suppliers local to Herefordshire to produce a range of preserves which combine traditional flavours with a contemporary twist to make something really quite special.

Since first being established in 2014 Myrtle's Preserves have won accolade after accolade and numerous Taste Awards.  In addition to this, it is now stocked in wonderful stores, deli's and restaurants throughout the UK (Selfridges and Liberty of London amongst them).  Not bad for a local business relying on local produce and ensuring it is picked and preserved at absolutely the optimum time.

We're delighted to say we've just unpacked a new delivery of Farmers' Welsh Lavender Hand Cream and (toot, toot, toot) new to their range Welsh Lavender Hand Sanitiser.

Just like the rest of their products this is produced by Bill and Nancy in their lavender farm high in the Welsh hills and is packed with deliciously scented oils of rosemary and lavender.  Of course, it also contains the bit that kills off the germs ie 61% alcohol but the scent of this quickly disperses leaving hands feeling smooth and subtly scented.

Combine with the Welsh Lavender Farmers Handcream for the full effect and don't forget their wonderful Foot Scrubs and creams if your pinkies need a little TLC

Alway beautifully designed and manufactured the Sandqvist Collection for Spring 2020 has raised the bar even further with many lines in the collection being officially rated as fully 'Vegan'. 

With a meticulous focus on every facet of their business and a push towards the highest levels of sustainability, Sandqvist have shown that it isn't necessary to compromise on the efficacy of a product or designer appeal in order to attain the highest standards.

The Sandqvist formula consists of five key pillars:

- Organic cotton

- Recycled materials

- Supply chain transparency

- Fair working conditions

- Long-lasting products

Some materials used in manufacturing a Sandqvist product and why

Recycled polyester is produced using post-consumer waste like PET-bottles. This process means the fabric gives a new lease of life to waste material that is not naturally biodegradable.

Organic cotton is grown without chemical pesticides, artificial fertilizers and genetically modified crops. All Sandqvist’s canvas products are constructed from organic cotton produced on a small scale by self-sufficient farmers in Adilabad, India. We choose to work directly with the farmers to ensure we have the highest quality products and provide fair wages and good working conditions for the local community.

Recycled Nylon is made using post-industry waste from discarded nylon-based products. Sandqvist’s recycled nylon is made from MIPAN regen, the world’s first recycled nylon filament yarn made for textile usage. Alongside being eco-friendly, the recycled nylon fibres are strong, lightweight and durable.

Simplicity is key in this monochrome space, which is filled with Scandinavian, and international design pieces against wall of soft grey, a rubber look blue/grey floor and pure white woodwork.  We’ve deliberately kept the display cabinets simple and rustic in style with original ‘design classics’ such as our Eames soft pad high back office chairs and string shelving contrasting with roughly hewn scaffold plank shelving and exposed pipe work.

At last we have had the opportunity to merchandise and display to our hearts content and show off the products to their very best advantage.    It will also be open for workshops and one off events.
