Founded in 1976 in Ardèche, Vivaraise is a French family business, which specialised in early years in bedspreads. The brand expanded its activity thereafter to blankets and bedspreads.

In the 1990s, influenced by a trip to India, the young designer Esther Blanchard (daughter of the founder), took up the torch of the family business and opened new horizons. Esther lives on a farm with sheep and donkeys. She is a very unique lady and dresses in vibrant Indian clothes. She travels around India and works exclusively with small family-owned factories, workshops and village co-operatives.

The brand specialises in combinations of colours, embroidery and patchwork. The colourful collections embody the image of a large universe whose philosophy is a perfect marriage of colours and hand-crafted fine fabrics.

By simply using organic products, Vivaraise also seeks to protect the environment, which is very important to Esther.

Bedspreads, throws or cushions can be superposed, (they always adapt to any interior) using mainly 100% cotton, linen or silk. Esther is also fond of ancient/vintage linens, using sometimes unique pieces made from used linen and clothes, sewn together to create magnificent throws or rugs for a second life.
